LS Fabrications "Gate Saver" or Tailgate Assist Shock/Strut 1967-1972 GMC Chevy Truck adds a little bit of modern luxury to your classic C10 truck. The Gate saver works on your factory tailgate by removing one of the link bars. Also, it can work in addition to the 67-72 Tailgate Latch Kit.
The LS Fab "Gate Saver" slows the tailgate opening action allowing your tailgate to open freely after unlatching. You can now have a tailgate that opens, closes and latches like a brand new Chevy pickup.
Our Tailgate Assist Shock/Strut 1967-1972 GMC Chevy Truck kit includes:
- ★ The dampener
- ★ 2x balls studs
- ★ Jam nut for an easy install.
- ★ Works with tailgate cables on both sides
- ★ For stock latches, an additional support bracket is also included.
*Minor Trimming of the tailgate and an M8 tap are required for install*
Removing your factory link arm will lessen the ability of your tailgate to handle a lot of weight.
